A sneak peak at the new arty Snow Leopard desktop wallpapers

A sneak peak at the new arty Snow Leopard desktop wallpapers

There’s something about the wallpapers built into the various operating systems. They’re strangely a great indication of the type of direction the company were going for when creating the OS. With Leopard and it’s stack of new features, the wallpapers were bright and space like, impressing the concept of “exploration and new beginnings”. Windows Vista was full of slick images depicting a new era of design and implementation for Microsoft’s consumer OS, sadly, slick it wasn’t.

As you’ll see below, Snow Leopard is a far more artistic understated look, seemingly matching Apple’s plans for a minor lick of paint to their OS but with a great deal of care behind the work. Well, that’s what I like to believe anyway :)
