I remember when we invited Michael Arrington to the first The Next Web Conference, back in 06, Techcrunch was well know in the hardcore web2.0 scene, but far from mainstream. How does Feedburner cope with that? Besides, the fact that people update, does not automatically means they read it (especially since Techcrunch is in a lot of subscriber packages in RSS readers). I agree it is a tremendous number of subscribers, however I do tend to think that number itself does not reflect the real use of RSS.
