The “404 error: File not found” is an HTTP standard response code meaning that the browser was able to communicate with the server but the server could not find the page you requested. In a perfect world you would never see this page. My guess is you are all very familiar with it.
At PatternTap they have a nice collection of 404 pages, like the one above, which are either beautiful or funny. Check them out if you have a few minutes to spare.
