Liquid conversations -- it seems to me that an important reason the conversations go elsewhere -- elsewhere from the blog -- is that blogs are not set up to foster conversations.

First blog posts disappear -- here today, tomorrow buried at the bottom of a stack. And by day before yesterday the stack has become very tall. You can do a little better with "recent posts," but here it is only today and yesterday on the list. Second, if there is a long list of comments there is normally no way to figure out what you have read and what you have not without reading all over again.

Well, there are a number of structural points -- but the question is why is a blog not like a salon?

It is amazing to see what you can do with 6 million dollars in venture funding. At first I was pretty sceptical about seesmic as in "the Twitter for video", but I see more and more really cool things happening in a non twitter for video way.

Seesmic is more valuable outside of its own website in my opinion. On blogs in comments, for instance and I really love this example of deafvideo.tv ( http://www.deafvideo.tv/video/watch/12706/ ).

Loic is showing that he is a master in marketing, Seesmic is tracking conversations on certain topics and then do an expert show, using the content of these videos already on seesmic. That is just good marketing.
