That 8GB phone for €1 equals a total cost over the two year contract of €1656. Add the activation fee which is supposedly €25 (if you don't already have a contract) plus that €1 and you get a total two year cost of €1682. When you see the numbers this way (and many will) I could see people opting for other phones. By the way, if you go for the 16GB with the XL plan your total cost comes to €2180.95.....ouch!
