[...] Of course, I asked him why visual search is the future. “The visual-based search is more intuitive and easy to use. Making a parallel here, iPhone is an example of a visual-based user interface that is taking smart phone market by storm. Look at Quintura as an iPhone for the search market.” That’s quite statement, as there are more visual search engines appearing, like ManagedQ. [...]

Agreed. ManagedQ's executive summaries are awesome. They immediately identify the top related topics (important people, places, things) that I would want to see and things I wouldn't know originally, but would want to be made aware of. Their UI is actually quite good and could help them gain popularity a la YouTube style. Also, I like that I get to keep my Google results; no loss of comfort there. I'll look for this application to gain hugely in popularity this year. It's nice to see some usable innovation in search. It's been awhile.

@noah
Are you referring to the executive summary along the left? if so, i really like it - it's a valuable addition that is always accessible and not in the way if i dont need it. I like how it reminds me of things related to my search that i didnt even know or had forgotten about! ive found a bunch of new/useful stuff i wouldnt have otherwise through it.

I actually find the UI simpler than google's, which is just a textual overload!

Argh!

I'm not so sure guys... I ran my favorite test search "batman" and yikes... there's just too much chaff on the page.

Call e a stupid, sprocking Mac user, but I like my UIs to be clean and elegant... I want to be able to quickly focus on the One Tree not be driven Mad by the Forest.

This is quite amazing. I naturally first did a vanity search, and it's got my number. Similarly, a search for my companies and brand names - it makes the connections.

This is something totally new in search, very intuitive and simple to use, and very simply - very useful. This is in the bookmarks, dugg, twittered and pownced.

Great find guys.
